Great stories about doing your part in respecting nature and helping prevent forest fires and alerting the right authorities in order to stop them from doing more damage. Great story about working for what you earn and not expecting the gold at the end of the rainbow and being generous. Great story about helping when you can and great info about trains and how they run.

We really enjoyed the sweet stories of heroism and hardwork through delightful tales of siblings who encounter firemen, gold miners, and trains.

Thanks so much for all the cute books. This one has three different stories and my eight year old loves to ride and enjoyed reading the parts about the kids riding ponies and donkeys she could relate to the story. She liked the adventure these kids had as well. Her confidence in reading has improved so much since I ordered several of your level two books. Thanks again!

This book would be a great one to add for a read aloud when talking about fire safety with your kids. We did this as a read aloud and loved it but would also be great for independent reading.

My kids didn’t want to stop reading after just one story! We read all of these in one sitting! They’re the perfect amount of suspense and adventure for young kids and early readers!

Level 2

Judy and Johnny turned the little donkeys around. They rode as fast as they could. They rode up the steep path to the Lookout Tower.

“Fire! Fire! Mr. Lee!” they called.

These three delightful stories, illustrated by Lucia Patton and set in the Colorado Rockies in the 1940s, have messages of kindness, service, courage, and respect for nature.

Children will enjoy following the adventures of Johnny and Judy in the first two stories when they save the day by alerting the forest ranger of a growing forest fire, and later when they learn how to pan for gold. In the third story, Randy loves to watch the trains go by every afternoon. One day he notices that something is wrong with his favorite freight engine. Can Randy help protect the train from the incoming Crimson Rocket?
